Volunteer of the Month

Atul Chaudhari

Educational Docent

Atul has a wonderful Facebook Page called Travel Backyard, which is dedicated to encouraging local community groups to come out into the open space preserves all over the Bay Area. We are fortunate to have him as a volunteer because he is very passionate about nature and open space. His enthusiasm is infectious and he is a genuine pleasure to work with. He always brings an adventure and a smile and has a way of helping the most timid of visitors take part in a wonderful outdoor experience. Atul is also a gifted videographer and photographer. He has helped us with Healthy People, Healthy Parks programs by providing guest docents who offer Bollywood and Kathak dance lessons as a way of exercise in the outdoors. He finds fun ways to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Atul’s passion for wildlife has also grown to include his individual work toward the creation of fog harvesting watering sources for wildlife.
